Win a $299 Wijmo License! Free Contest

I’ve talked about Wijmo here before, discussing the vast array of widgets that they provide to go above and beyond the jQuery UI library and allow you to easily create a rich user interface for your applications. Well, now I have a $299 commercial license that I’ve decided is more likely to be put to good use by one of my loyal followers (or a first-time visitor too I guess). Read on to see how you can win!

How Did I Get This Wijmo License?

As I mentioned above, I’ve talked about Wijmo before, and you have my word that I did so entirely of my own will, with no inscentives. I’d never even talked to anyone at ComponentOne (the company who made Wijmo) before, but when they saw my post, they wanted to thank me, so they gave me a free license in gratitude. They also sent me a few small extras too: 2 purple t-shirts with the Wijmo logo on them, 8 HTML5 and Wijmo pins (the kind you attach to your t-shirt), and 3 Wijmo promotional posters (one of which was signed by some of the team members).

I think that there’s someone out there who is more worthy than me, and more likely to make good use of the license than me, so I’ve decided to give it away in a free drawing. Seriously, if you’d like to save yourself $299, just sign up. This blog has a relatively small following too, so I don’t foresee anyone’s odds being very bad.

Rules and Stuff

Ok, so this is really simple: just fill out the form below or check the sidebar of the site (sorry, the sidebar isn’t visible when you’re viewing a post). All I need is your name and email address. I will only use this email address to contact you in the three following situations:

  1. If you win the contest, I will email you to inform you that you won and to deliver your prize.
  2. If you click the check box that says, “Sign me up for the newsletter too!” you will be added to my normal newsletter list and you will receive an email every Friday with updates to what’s been happening on the site.
  3. Below I explain a special bonus, which will be sent to you via email within 24 hours of you signing up.

Your email will NEVER be sold, given away, or used dishonestly in any way.

To sweeten the deal, I’ve thrown a couple extra goodies into the mix. Every person who signs up for the contest will receive a coupon code for $5 off of the Getting Good with JavaScript e-book from Rockable Press. Normally I only give this to people who sign up for the newsletter, but I decided to be extra nice today. Finally, if you win and would like me to, I’ll add some stickers, posters, and pins to the prize (I love purple and signed memorabilia, so I’m keeping the t-shirts and the signed poster).

The drawing will be held Tuesday, May 8th. This also happens to be my Birthday, so you should feel honored that I’m giving something away on a day that I’m accustomed to receiving stuff. So at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on Monday, May 7th, I will no longer be accepting submissions.

Get On With It!

Well, this is what you’ve all been waiting to see: the form! Just fill it out for a $5 coupon and a chance to win a $299 license for Wijmo.

Signups have ended. If you won, you will receive an email from Joe Zim: contact at joezimjs dot com.

Don’t forget to share this with your friends and get them signed up too. If you’re already a newsletter subscriber and want your own signup bonus, then leave suggestions as to what it should be in the comments below. Good luck to everyone and Happy Coding!
